Bar owner shot dead in Bengaluru’s Brigade Road

  • Officials said that Manish alias Saravatham Shetty, who hailed from Koppa ,is a close associate of underworld don, Bannanje Raja and had settled down in the city for the past 20 years.
  • Criminal cases were registered against him in Mangaluru and Mumbai for extortion, threatening people with murder and cheating.Commissioner of Police, Kamal Pant said that the accused opened fire using a SBML gun and attacked him a couple of times using a machete.

“Manish fell down and when the accused tried to flee, they fell down too from the scooter. So they abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot. We have received a few positive clues and all the senior police officers are at the spot investigating the scene. We have formed nine teams and we will soon trace the accused,” he said.

  • A senior officer said that Manish was earlier convicted in a case and had links with the underworld don, Bannanje Raja, with whom he had joint investments. Investigations are on.
