Previously, the company had released teaser images of the upcoming 2020 Verna sedan in India, announcing that the sedan will come with a 1.0-litre turbo GDI engine and three transmission options. There will be an intelligent variable CVT, a 7-speed dual-clutch, and a 6-speed torque converter gearbox on offer. In addition, 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines from the Creta will be on offer.

The facelifted Hyundai Verna will be offered with a BS6-compliant 1.0-litre T-GDI petrol engine that develops 120PS and 172Nm. We expect it to be available with a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT. The facelifted Verna is expected to be launched in the country by mid-2020. The manufacturer has been continuously testing the sedan across the country. Expect it to be priced more than the current model which starts from Rs 8.18 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted Hyundai Verna will renew its rivalry with the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid, Toyota Yaris and the upcoming Honda City 2020.
