  • BENGALURU: Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has withheld the rank list for Architecture in Common Entrance Test 2020 following complaints of discrepancies in calculating the marks.
  • As per the rules, 50% of either the highest score of the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) or the highest score of the JEE and the class XII marks will be considered for the NATA ranking.
  • However, the result of the JEE paper 2 was announced in percentiles, while the other parameters are in actual scores.
  • According to the students, KEA made the mistake of using the percentile instead of the actual score while using JEE, making an orange to apple comparison.
  • Many students who had scored well in NATA were dismayed at their ranks even as they saw their counterparts who had attempted JEE securing better ranks.
  • In an official statement, KEA said it is withholding the ranks following requests from students to revisit the list. The parents and students had met officials on Monday and Tuesday morning.
