The crime took place when the victim was receiving treatment at the clinic of the accused doctor in Jogeshwari East. The doctor raped the woman after giving her an injection which made her unconscious.
Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a 58-year-old doctor in Mumbai allegedly raped his patient and shot the video of the sexual assault and circulated it online. Meghwadi police have now arrested the doctor on charges of rape.
The accused has been identified as Vanshraj Dwivedi. A local court has sent the doctor to police remand till October 17.

According to a report, the crime took place when the 27-year-old patient was getting treated by the doctor for piles. The survivor told police that she came into contact with the doctor in 2015 when she started undergoing treatment at his clinic in Jogeshwari East.
The victim in her complaint to police stated that the crime occurred on May 28, 2015 when the doctor gave her an injection and she went unconscious for 45 minutes.
The woman said when she reached home, she received an obscene video from the doctor showing her and the accused in an intimate act. The accused also threatened her not to speak to anyone about the incident or he will circulate the video online.
Later, the victim reached the clinic and confronted the doctor about the video. The woman said Dwivedi forced her to have a physical relationship and threatened to circulate the video if she refused.
The woman also stated that the doctor on many occasions called her to his clinic and sexually assaulted her.
However, the victim got married in 2018 and moved to her husband’s residence in Malad, severing all contacts with the accused.
The victim said the doctor got in touch with her recently and tried to force her into an intimate relationship. He also threatened to post the video online if she rejected his demand.
The woman’s husband later got the video on his phone showing his wife and another man in an intimate act. When the man confronted his wife, she told her husband about the blackmail and sexual assault.
Later, the woman’s husband accompanied her to the police station to file an FIR. The couple showed the video to the police as evidence. A case was filed against the doctor and he was arrested on Saturday.
