Use soap instead of hand sanitisers before lighting candles on Sunday, : Indian Army

The Indian Army on Saturday advised all citizens to be careful while lighting diyas or candles on Sunday. It was advised that it would be better to wash hands with soap instead of using sanitisers prior to the lighting candles, etc since the alcohol-based santitiser carries a potential risk factor.

“On April 5, let us be careful while lighting diyas or candles. Use soap to wash your hands and not alcohol-based sanitisers prior to lighting,” said Indian Army in a tweet.
Washing hands with soap will ensure the safety of all citizens as there are chances that alcohol-based sanitisers may catch fire. It is to be noted that sanitisers contain approximately 60% ethyl alcohol, which is highly flammable and tends to burn ith peak flame temperatures between 500° and 1000°F
