‘Dad will definitely..’ – Washington Sundar reacts to Jaffer’s meme trolling tail-enders for his 96 vs England

He was batting on 96 when Axar was dismissed on 43 before tail-enders Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Siraj both departed for a duck apiece to deny the all-rounder a hundred.
  • Former India batsman Wasim Jaffer, who is known for his memes and digs on Twitter, shared a meme from the popular movie 3 Idiots to trolls Ishant, Axar, and Siraj. Sundar responded to Jaffer’s tweet on Monday and said his father would definitely treat the trio with Biryani and Halwa.
  • Sundar’s father – M Sundar had earlier expressed his disappointment with Indian tail-enders for failing to stay out in the middle for a little longer to ensure the all-rounder reached his hundred. He said it was a matter of courage, not technique or skills as England bowlers were tired.
  • “What I am really disappointed about are the tail-enders. They couldn’t stay on for even a brief while. Suppose India were playing, needing 10 runs to win, wouldn’t this have been a huge mistake.

  • “It is not about technique or skills. It was a matter of courage. England were tired, Stokes was bowling at 123-126. They were not bowling at lethal pace,” he added.
  • Nonetheless, India went on to win the fourth Test by an innings and 25 runs to qualify for the final of the World Test Championship where they will face New Zealand in Southampton in June this year.
