The updated terms and conditions on Airtel’s page for the plan read, “Maximum 8 Add-ons numbers can be added in a family plan, including the free add-ons as per Plan opted.” When a user visits Airtel’s website, these plans show two family add-ons and four family add-ons respectively for plans priced at Rs 749 and Rs 999. These are allocated freebies. And if users go in for add-ons beyond these allocated freebies they will be charged Rs 249 for regular plans and Rs 99 for data respectively. “Beyond consumption of allocated freebies, add-ons will be chargeable at Rs 249 and Rs 99 for Regular and Data respectively,” the terms and conditions page noted.
The development was first reported by Telecom Talk.
Airtel further notes that the primary or parent number can manage the add-on services anytime such as data allocation, addition and removal of add-on connections and change the bill plan. It also noted that family plan benefits can be utilised if parent and add-on numbers are in the same state or circle.
Earlier this month, Airtel reintroduced its Rs 399 postpaid plans in select telecom circles across India to take on JioPlus Postpaid plan that starts at Rs 399. Airtel’s Rs 399 postpaid plan offers 40GB data with 3G or 4G speed along with unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day.
