  • At a meeting with health minister K Sudhakar on Friday, TAC members proposed night curfew between 8pm to 5am. The government will now take a call on the issue.
  • TAC said weddings scheduled between December 20 and January 2 can go ahead as planned and urged the government to ensure one lakh RT-PCR tests a day till February.
“There is a possibility of a second wave of infections in January or February and the next 45 days are crucial,” Sudhakar said. “TAC’s suggestions will be discussed with the chief minister.”
  • Sudhakar said a meeting will be held later this month to decide on the issue of reopening schools. He reiterated that New Year is not an Indian festival. “There is no meaning in celebrations when there is loss of lives and livelihoods in society,” he said.
