 A blast occurred outside the Israeli embassy in the heart of Lutyens’ Delhi on Friday evening, sending shockwaves across the country. The embassy is situated on APJ Abdul Kalam Road.
There were no immediate reports of any injuries.

  1. It was a low-intensity explosion. “We are looking into the matter. It is yet to be ascertained the kind of material that exploded,” said a senior police officer.
  2. Police have found broken pieces of a cold drink can from the spot. It is being suspected a low-intensity IED was kept in the can and thrown from a moving car.
  3. As per the Delhi Police, the explosion took place at the roadside of 5 Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road.
  4. An alert has been issued at all airports, important installations and government buildings in the wake of a blast reported in Delhi. Security measures have been intensified: Central Industrial Security Force
  5. Israel’s Ambassador to India Ron Malka has said that all officials are safe.
  6. As per the Israeli Foreign Ministry, no one was wounded in the explosion near the embassy in India. “All embassies and staff were ordered to stay alert and take necessary precautionary measures.”
  7. The fire department received the call about the blast at 5:11 pm, as the Beating Retreat ceremony was underway at Rajpath a few kilometres away. Three fire tenders were pressed into service.
  8. Some vehicles parked nearby were damaged in the blast. “The mirrors of two to three cars are broken. Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot,” said a fire service official.
  9. Police are inspecting the CCTV footages from the locality.
