Courtesy of a brilliant death bowling spell from Chris Morris and a captain’s knock from Sanju Samson, Rajasthan Royals (RR) returned to the winning ways and chased down 134 in 18.5 overs to move to the 6th spot in the points table. With just one win from 4 matches, the Samson-led side was again reeling at the last spot.

RR’s bowlers did their job to perfection by restricting KKR to a low total of 133. KKR did pose challenges for the home team in the chase but couldn’t prevent themselves from being pushed to the last spot.
-
RR lost an early wicket in the chase as Jos Buttler was trapped in front of the stumps by Varun Chakravarthy. The senior opener decided against taking the review and walked off. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who replaced Manan Vohra, couldn’t convert his start into a big one and was dismissed on 22 off 17.

Shivam Dube once again stepped up with the bat and scored a vital 18-ball 22, adding 45 runs for the third wicket with skipper Sanju Samson.
-
Samson continued to hold one end even as RR lost another wicket. He added 34 runs for the 5th wicket with David Miller (24*) and completed the chase with a single off Pat Cummins.
-
Asked to bat first, KKR made a poor start and lost the wicket of Shubman Gill, courtesy of some brilliant fielding by Buttler. The right-handed batsman only managed 11 during his 19-ball stay out in the middle. Nitish Rana and Rahul Tewatia started the repair work after the early wicket and added 21 runs.
-
Rana, who had played 24 balls, was dismissed right after the strategic time out after he edged to Samson off Chetan Sakariya.
-
KKR’s management punt to promote Sunil Narine didn’t work and he managed 6 off 7. The left-handed batsman did start his innings with a four but had a short stay on the crease.
-
Eoin Morgan, who walked out to bat at 5, was run-out without facing a delivery. Tripathi continued to hold one end and scored 36 off 26 before being dismissed in the 16th over.
-
Karthik was the sole run-scorer after Tripathi’s wicket and he contributed vital 25 ogf 24. Chris Morris kept the scoring under control with 4 wickets in the final three over of the innings.

He got the big wicket Andre Russell in the 18th over and also dismissed Cummins for 10 off 6 in the final over. Courtesy of Tripathi’s and Karthik’s contribution, KKR scored 133/9. The total didn’t prove to the enough. KKR are now placed at the last spot in the points table.
That's that from Match 18 of #VIVOIPL as @rajasthanroyals win by 6 wickets to register their second win of the season.
