  • CTET 2020 Exam Date has been released by CBSE today. The examination would be conducted on January 31, 2020. Candidates can check the official notice and eligibility criteria below.
  • Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE has released CTET 2020 Exam Date today, November 4, 2020. The Central Teacher Eligibility Test, CTET examination would be conducted on January 31, 2021.
  • Candidates who have appeared for the examination can check the official notice on the official site of CBSE CTET on ctet.nic.in soon.
  • The examination that was earlier scheduled to be conducted on July 5, 2020, in 112 cities would now be conducted in 135 cities across the country, as per the official notice.
  • The number of centres has been increased to maintain social distancing and other safety measures issued by the Health Ministry for exams.

  • The new exam cities where CTET would be conducted are Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Begusarai, Gopalganj, Purnia, Rohtas, Saharsa, Saran, Bhilai/ Durg, Bilaspur, Hazaribagh, Jamshedpur, Ludhiana, Ambedkar Nagar, Bijnor, Bulandshahr, Deoria, Gonda, Mainpuri, Pratapgarh, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur and Udham Singh Nagar.
  • Candidates who want to change their examination city can make online corrections from November 7 to November 16, 2020, up to 11.59 pm.
  • The Board has taken this decision in view of the difficulty faced by candidates due to COVID19 across the nation.

CTET 2020: Eligibility Criteria 

There is no change in the CTET 2020 eligibility. Candidates who have qualified their Class 12 or equivalent with minimum 50%  and has completed or is in the final year of
  1. 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
  2. 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
  3. 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).
  4. 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
  5. Candidates who have completed B.Ed are also eligible to apply for the Elementary teacher or Classes 1 to 5 provided they complete a 6 month course in elementary education.
Please note that as per the existing ‘TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11-02-2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET/CTET’.
  • Earlier CBSE has said that CTET 2020 exam dates would be released when it’s conducive to conduct the exams.
  • This year more than 10 lakh students who appear for the CTET examination. The examination is conducted twice a year and the examination is conducted offline.
  • The duration of the exam is 150 minutes and the question paper is available in English and in Hindi.
