‘Our country needs action, PM only provides distraction’: Rahul Gandhi attacks Prime Minister Modi

•  Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is a staunch critic of PM Narendra Modi’s policies, on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the Prime Minister saying that he only provides distraction to the country.

• “Our country needs action. PM only provides distraction (sic),” the Congress leader tweeted.

• His attack comes amid several Indians, who have been stranded in Ukraine, urging PM Modi and the Central government to evacuate them urgently.

• Earlier today, another special Air India flight, which flew from Hungary with 240 students, who were stranded in Ukraine, landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.

• Addressing a poll rally in UP’s Basti, PM Modi today stated that his government is working tirelessly to bring back Indians stuck in Ukraine.

  “By running Operation Ganga, we are bringing thousands of Indians back home. Our sons, daughters still stranded in Ukraine will be brought back. Government working day and night for them…Wherever there is trouble, we left no tone unturned to bring our citizens back,” he said.

• Rahul Gandhi had on Saturday highlighted the plight of Indian students stranded in Ukraine and appealed to the Central government to evacuate them. He had also shared a video of some Indian students from Karnataka who were stuck in a bunker in the country, which is under attack from the Russian forces.

  “Visuals of Indian students in bunkers are disturbing. Many are stuck in eastern Ukraine which is under heavy attack. My thoughts are with their worried family members. Again, I appeal to Government of India to execute urgent evacuation,” he had tweeted.
