  •  In a shocking incident reported from the national capital, a 22-year-old woman was gang-raped by three men after they dragged her from the Shakur Basti railway platform where she was sitting.

  • The incident took place on Thursday night. Police have formed several teams to arrest the suspects.
  • The victim who lives nearby came to the railway station after an argument with her family members and sat there, according to a report in Times of India.
  • The complainant told police that three men reached the platform and approached her after seeing her alone.
    “The three accused started to touch her inappropriately and when she resisted they dragged her into bushes near the railway station,” the report quoted a police officer as saying.
  • The three men then took turn to rape her and threatened her with dire consequences if she reported the matter to the police.
  • Later, the woman reached home and informed her family members about the crime. The family members informed the police and the victim was sent for medical examination.
  • Police filed a case of gang rape after the medical examination confirmed sexual assault. Police said they are analysing the CCTV footage to identify and arrest the accused.
