  • An FIR has been registered against actors Sohail Khan, his son and brother Arbaaz Khan and for violation of Covid protocol. The FIR has been registered against the three under Section 188 IPC under 3 of Epidemic Diseases Act by the complainant, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) medical officer.
  • According to sources, the trio returned from Dubai on December 25 and was asked to remain in quarantine in a hotel but they went home and violated the quarantine. According to reports citing sources, the three had informed the officials that they had booked a suite for quarantine at the Taj Lands End but skipped the quarantine and left for home.
  • “Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) registers FIR against actor Sohail Khan & his son as well as actor Arbaaz Khan for violating COVID norms. They returned from Dubai on December 25 and were asked to remain in quarantine in a hotel but they went home,” BMC officials said, news agency ANI reported. The trio is thus likely to be taken to an institutional quarantine for the next seven days.
  • According to the existing norms, the returnees from the UK and UAE as well as Europe are required to undergo a seven-day institutional quarantine. The norms were put in place by the state government after a new strain of coronavirus surfaced from the UK.
