KEY STORY

  • Former Indian Test opener Wasim Jaffer has got the unique ability to post hilarious and funny social media posts, often targeting players and teams for their on and off-field dealings. His immense sense of humour has time and again left netizens on a roll and he never fails to impress fans on social media. In the 2nd Test match between India and England, Mohammad Siraj was at the receiving end of trolls for persuading skipper Virat Kohli for taking reviews even when it was apparent that the decision would remain ‘not out’.
  • Wasim Jaffer took to Twitter to share a quirky post and it read just one line. DRS: Don’t review Siraj, followed by a smiley emoticon. Netizens were quick to take notice of this funny post and there were umpteen tweets and re-tweets that followed.

  • For the unversed, Siraj had wasted reviews in the 1st Test match too and he followed it up with the two successive review wastages in the 2nd Test match. When the ball crashed the pads and on two occasions, Siraj was of the opinion that it was an LBW. He insisted on taking the review and Kohli was persuaded before India ended up losing 2 reviews. Even wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant had insisted on not taking the reviews.
  • The second Test match between India and England is hanging on an even balance as both the teams have done decent in the two days so far. India mustered 364 runs in the 1st innings as England went to stumps on Day 2 being placed at 119-3. KL Rahul was the showstopper in the 1st innings as he amassed a top-notch century as he scored 129 runs.
  • Indian bowlers will be eager to start afresh and prevent England from taking a first-innings lead on Day 3 on Saturday (August 14).
