  • Children of those areas where foodgrains have already been delivered will get dry rations immediately and the others will soon follow.
  • Children of classes 1-5 will get 100gm of rice/wheat and 58 gm of tur dal per day. Those in classes 6-10 will receive 150gm of rice/wheat and 87gm of tur dal daily.
  • While those in classes 1-8 will get wheat for 8 days and rice for rest of the days, those in classes 9-10 will get rice on all days. Tur dal is given towards the expenditure incurred in preparing food.

CONCLUSION

  • The foodgrains will be distributed in schools while maintaining strict social-distancing norms.
  • A distribution register will be maintained and the process has to be done under the supervision of an SDMC member. Dry rations are being given as schools are closed owing to the pandemic, thus bringing the midday meal scheme to a halt and affecting kids’ nutrition levels.
  • Private school associations held a discussion with commissioner of public instruction on reopening of schools.
  • They suggested a shift system, alternate days or a blended learning system depending on parents’ interests.
