Karnataka SSLC 2021 exams to be held on July 19, 22

The Karnataka government has announced that the timetable for the SSLC (Class 10) exams, which will be conducted in July. This year, over 8.76 lakh students are writing the exams, as opposed to 8.46 lakh last year.
Primary and Secondary Education minister S Suresh Kumar said, “On 19th July examination will be conducted for core subjects-Mathematics, Science and Social Science. Similarly, on 22nd July, the examination will be held for language subjects.”
The exams will be held from 10:30 am to 01:30 pm and the pattern of the paper will be multiple-choice questions.
“The students will have to mark the right answers on the Optical Mark Reading (OMR) sheet given to them at the examination centres,” the minister added.
Only 12 students will be allowed to sit in each classroom and all Covid appropriate behaviour would have to be followed.
The minister also said that the government’s focus would be to vaccinate the teachers, staff and officials involved in conducting the examination, well ahead of the date of the exam.
If a student has contracted COVID-19 and wishes to appear for the examination, they can do so from the nearest Covid Care Centre. Meanwhile, students will also be given an opportunity to write the examination later and will be treated as freshers.

Speaking at a press conference, Kumar also added that students who have migrated with their parents due to the COVID-19 pandemic can write their examination from a centre closer to their location. The government has collected data on students who migrated.
The Deputy Director of Public Instruction in respective areas have been alerted and will ensure these students appear for the examination,
When asked about the reopening of schools, the minister confirmed that a task force has been formed, comprising members of the Technical Advisory Committee, paediatric experts and subject experts. The committee will provide suggestions on reopening.
