Karnataka: Training aircraft of Jakkur Flying School topples on runway, one hurt

  • A training aircraft of the Government Flying School, Jakkur, toppled and fell aside the runway on Sunday evening after a dog had allegedly strayed onto the path. One person sustained minor injuries while the other on board was fine, said a top police official.
  • According to an aviation source familiar with the development, a CESSNA-185 aircraft toppled when landing at 5.45 pm here. “It is too early to share the reasons for it. A DGCA team is here and they are probing into the issue,” he said. The source confirmed that one person sustained injuries while the other was alright.
  • Another individual said that a dog which accidentally strayed into the runway’s path could have been the reason. “It is a very narrow strip here. The aircraft could have toppled due to the pilot’s bid to avoid hitting the dog,” he said.
