KSRTC bus driver, conductor assaulted in AP’s Srisailam

  • In yet another case of ‘violence’ against Kannada-speaking people in Andhrapradesh, a group of miscreants allegedly assaulted a KSRTC bus driver and conductor in Srisailam.
  • It is said that the bus was traveling from Vijayapura to Srisailam. The incident took place on June 2 when the driver and conductor were sleeping inside the bus at the Srisailam bus stand.
  • Around midnight, a group of people barged inside the bus and began attacking the duo. However, they were rescued by the locals after they heard the duo scream for help.
  • The bus driver Basavaraj Biradar has been severely injured in the incident. Following this, a case was registered at the nearby police station.
  • Earlier,  two people from Karnataka were injured in the violence which started as a verbal duel between a pilgrim and a local shop owner in Srisailam.
