Two #GHMC officials arrested in Hyderabad by ACB for accepting Rs 80,000 bribe
In a turn of events two officials were arrested in Hyderabad for Accepting Bribe.The sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureaus (ACB) on Friday trapped a tax inspector and bill collector of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation(GHMC) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 80,000 from a person to reduce the property tax by doing re-verification.

The ACB sleuths in a press note said that the raid was conducted at Ward office of GHMC in Maruti Nagar, which is part of Saroornagar circle, and arrested tax inspector Ravi Prasad, and bill collector J Pochaiah
Officials said that Ravi Prasad demanded and accepted the alleged bribe through Pochaiah at ward office.
Earlier, the victim P Janardhan Rao, a resident of Saroor Nagar, had approached ACB officials informing that the accused, Ravi Prasad, was asking for bribe to conduct a re-verification of the property to reduce the tax amount by limiting it to one year instead of three years.
Pochaiah had allegedly collected the tainted cash from the victim. His both hands tested positive during the chemical test
. “The accused officials performed their duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage. The accused are being arrested and produced before the ACB Court,” ACB officials said in a press note.
