One more person has tested positive for coronavirus in Pune. The person has travel history to France and the Netherlands. The total number of positive cases reached 42 in Maharashtra (19 in Pune), while India tally rises to 140.
India on Tuesday recorded the third death due to COVID-19 with a 63-year-old man from Mumbai, who died with symptoms of the novel coronavirus at the city’s Kasturba Hospital.
As the world shuts down borders and limits travel, India’s total number of cases has crossed the 140-mark after fresh cases were reported from several states.
Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure to curb the spread of coronavirus, the Army has postponed all training courses for its personnel which were scheduled to begin from March 23 onwards, officials said on Tuesday.
The Army has also cancelled non-essential training, conferences and movement of personnel, they said. Courses that are in progress will continue with necessary precautions, they added.
In Tamil Nadu, which has had only one coronavirus case, the government ordered the closure of all malls, clubs, bars, amusement parks, swimming pools, gymnasiums, museums and zoos till March 31.
