Praveen Nettaru murder: Sec 144 extended till Aug 6 in 5 taluks of Dakshina Kannada

Highlights

• Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra KV, on July 29, extended the prohibitory orders in Bantwal, Belthangady, Puttur, Kadaba, and Sullia taluks.

• Prohibitory order under CrPC Section 144 has been extended from July 29 midnight till August 6 midnight, the order said.

• The order said the assembly of 5 or more persons in public places is prohibited. Carrying weapons, public processions, burning effigies, or holding protests is also banned.

• The prohibitory orders were clamped down in these taluks following the murder of BJYM member Praveen Nettaru.
