Recoveries continue to outnumber new Covid cases in Karnataka

Maintaining the healthy trend, with 607 patients discharged in the last 24 hours, recoveries outnumbered 468 new Covid cases across Karnataka in a day, said the state health bulletin on Friday.
“Recoveries rose to 9,20,110 till date, with 607 discharged in the day, while 468 new cases on Thursday increased the state’s Covid tally to 9,38,401, including 6,061 active cases.
With two patients, including one each in Bengaluru and Mandya succumbing to the virus, the state’s death toll rose to 12,211 so far.
Of the 148 patients in the intensive care units (ICUs), 69 are in Bengaluru hospitals and 12 in Kalaburagi, while the rest are in 28 remaining districts across the southern state.
Out of 68,532 tests conducted in the day, 4,600 were through rapid-antigen detection and 63,932 through RT-PCR method.
Positivity rate for the day was 0.68 per cent and case fatality rate was 0.42 per cent on Thursday across the state.
