Players released

Before entering the IPL 14 mini-auction, in Chennai, SRH — who doesn’t believe in chopping and changing a lot — released players such as Billy Stanlake, Sandeep Bavanaka, Fabian Allen, Sanjay Yadav and Prithviraj Yarra.

Performances so far

Hyderabad have been one of the most consistent sides of late, despite not being talked about as often as some heavyweight teams like the Mumbai Indians (MI), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), etc. After revamping in 2013, they reached the playoffs but had two forgettable campaigns in 2014 and 2015 seasons before winning the title in 2016.
From the 2017-2020 edition, SRH have consistently qualified for the playoffs — ending as the runners-up in 2018.
