Teachers & Staff without even 1 dose of COVID-19 vaccine won’t be allowed in Schools: DOE



  • Teachers & Staff who did not receive even one dose of COVID-19 vaccination would not be allowed to enter schools in Delhi. The decision has been conveyed by the Directorate of Education Delhi after taking into consideration the COVID-19 situation. Schools in Delhi would reopen for physical classes from November 1, 2021. However, attendance is mandatory for students.
  • Thus, both online and offline classes would be conducted in the schools. As per the order released, the vaccination status of teachers and staffers would be verified by officials. Officials would be verifying the vaccination status with the help of the vaccination certificate or the Arogya Setu App.
  • As per the order issued by the Directorate of Education Delhi, teachers, staffers, and all other employees working in schools who did not get themselves vaccinated by October 15, 2021, would not be allowed to attain their respective educational institutions. Thus, till their first dose of vaccination, the teachers and other staff working in the educational institutions would be treated as “On Leave.”

The detailed official notification with regards to vaccination can be found on the official website. Before the reopening of schools, Delhi Disaster Management Authority or DDMA had issued the notification that all government employees working under the  Government of NCT of Delhi including teachers, other staff at educational institutions should get themselves vaccinated by October 15, 2021.
Schools in Delhi would reopen with proper COVID-19 protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, reopening classes with 50% capacity, and others. The total number of active cases of COVID-19 in Delhi is 349 cases. The death ratio due to COVID-19 in Delhi is 1.74%.
