WhatsApp has reportedly dropped support for iPhones running iOS 9. According to a report by WABetaInfo citing a source states that iOS 9 devices that are on the 2.21.50 WhatsApp beta version, won’t be able to use the messaging app. The company is yet to update its FAQ page with the same.
According to WABetaInfo, the popular messaging service will drop support for iPhones running iOS version 9 with the arrival of version 2.21.50.11 which is currently in beta testing. The company offers users the opportunity to test new features coming to other users via its Testflight testing service, which is currently closed as there are no new slots.

This means that in an upcoming update of WhatsApp, users with iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s will not be able to update their WhatsApp app and eventually the app will require an update and refuse to work. iPhone 5, 5s, 5c users who have still not updated to a newer version of iOS should do so as soon as possible otherwise they will not be able to use WhatsApp eventually.
WhatsApp is going to come up with an improved version of archived chats. The feature is under development and will be released shortly. WhatsApp is reportedly preparing user interface improvements for the archived chat cell, which will only be visible if you have chats in your archive. Once the feature is public, all of the archived discussions will not be automatically unarchived.
It is important to note that all notifications from archived chats will also be muted, which means that you will not get to know if you have received a message. The cited source says that this feature will be optional. Currently, you will find the archived chats at the end of all the chats. You just need to open WhatsApp and scroll down to the bottom of the chats. Here, you will see the ‘Archived’ option, which you need to click on to see what all chats you have achieved.
Also, WhatsApp for some time has been reported on working on features like multi-device support, which will help users easily shift between devices and use multiple devices at once. These features will also allow users to easily shift between using iOS and Android devices seamlessly, without losing their data.
