• After T Natrajan and Shardul Thakur, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj also took to Twitter to thank business tycoon Anand Mahindra as he received his brand new Mahindra Thar on Sunday. Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of Mahindra Group, had promised Thars to six young Indian players after their impressive show in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21 against Australia Down Under.

• Apart from Shardul, Natarajan, and Siraj, Mahindra had promised to gift Thars to Washington Sundar, Navdeep Saini, and Shubman Gill. All five players barring Shardul had made their Test debuts in the Australia tour and helped India secure a memorable 2-1 win against the hosts in their own backyard.

• A huge cricket aficionado himself, Anand Mahindra follows the Indian cricket team religiously and regularly shares his views on the game.

• He had lauded the youngsters on several occasions for their heroics against Australia as the Indian team fought back after a shattering loss in the first Test to win the 4-match rubber 2-1.

• Siraj, who made his Test debut in the series, grabbed headlines with his impressive performances as he finished with 13 wickets from just three matches. He was the highest wicket-taker for India in the Test series despite not having played the first Test and delivered in the absence of the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Umesh Yadav.
