An earthquake struck the areas surrounding Gadikeshwar in Chincholi taluk of Kalaburagi district at 6.05 am on Sunday.
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), an earthquake of magnitude 3.4 on the Richter scale occurred in the location. Santosh Baler from Gadikeshwar said he heard a huge sound from the earth and experienced tremors at around 6.05 am.
Residents ran out of their homes as utensils and other items started falling down. People who experienced tremors have been scared for the past three days as they often heard sounds from the earth.
The residents of Gadikeshwar, Kupanur, Halachera, Tegalatippi, Bhantanalli, Benakalli, Rayakod, Bhutapur, Chintapalli, Rudnur and other villages are said to have experienced tremors.
