DR.Brunda, consultant, internal medicine,Aster CMI Hospital said, the relaxations after the lockdown when the government gave permission to organised public gatherings and festivals could be one of the reason.
People flouted all the measures due to which we saw a spike in number of cases post Ganesh Utsav. The change in the attitude of the individual with regards to the necessary precautions which are required to restrict the covid spread and their inter-state movement is huge concern which has led to an increase in transmission of the virus.”she said
Currently, many people who have travelled to different places and are now coming back to the state are not following the 14-DAY Quarantine which also ease said to be a cause of the spike.”Non-Compliance by individuals in wearing mask in public areas is aslo a foctor .Change in weather is also a causes for the spike,”she said.Dinesh V Kamath consultant-internal medicine,Manipal Hospital,Malleswaram however, said that bengaluru has not overtaken Mumbai.”It is only that we are seeing a continous surge of cases in the city. This is mainly because their are testing more people in the community with aor without symptoms.Recent festivals caused more people in public too.But the case fatilty rate is not high as mumbai,”he said
