Govt to soon come up with a 24×7 national helpline number for exporters

  • To give the nation’s exports a much needed push, Modi Govt will soon come up with a national helpline numbers for the exporters. The 24*7 national helpline number will be rolled out to address the various issues raised by the exporters, in addition to take the flags raised by the exporters to the appropriate authorities.
  • Speaking on the sideline of an event, Piyush Goyal, Commerce Minister also in-charge of Consumer Affairs Ministry informed that the trials of the helpline number have already been done during the Covid lockdown period and so far it has been successful. Riding on the successful trials of the helpline number, now the Commerce Ministry plans to roll out the initiative pan India basis very soon. Minister Goyal said that the government would soon institutionalize a 24-hour “helpline” for assistance to exporters and resolution of issues.
  • Speaking at an event to mark the beginning of ‘Vanijya Saptah’ as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations, Goyal said the campaign revealed the Centre’s resolve to build a strong country for the future.
  • The minister informed that about 250 seminars and mega program will be held in the country during the Amrit Mahotsav. Kickstarting the ‘Vanijya Saptah’ from Uttar Pradesh, Minister Goyal delivered the keynote address at the launch of the event at SEZ Noida. Goyal said there was a need to jointly create a roadmap for the next 25 years and contribute to make India a world leader.
  • Government is also working to soon roll out Single Window Clearance system for the export sector. Commerce Minister said that single window clearance system will help to eliminate red tapism, bring in transparency and expedite the approval process in the exports sector.
