  • Although National Nutrition Week was first marked in 1975 by American Dietetic Association, the central government in India launched its campaign in 1982 to educate people about the importance of nutrition and to encourage them to develop a healthy lifestyle.
  • The theme of National Nutrition Week 2021 is ‘Feeding smart right from the start’. As the name suggests, this year the government wants to lay stress on the importance of child nutrition and how kids can benefit from a nourishing diet right from birth. The program has been established to raise awareness through educational seminars and camps like Good Food Talk Show, Bharat Poshan Premier Quiz and Healthy Khayega India, it will be a week-long campaign led by youngsters, the elderly and industry leaders.

National Nutrition Week 2021: Significance
