West Bengal’s sculptor makes Sushant Singh Rajput’s wax statue as a tribute

Asansol: A sculptor from West Bengal has made a Madame Tussauds-like wax statue of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Susanta Ray, the sculptor, made the statue as a tribute to the actor who died in June.

• Ray, who admired Sushant, made the statue for display at his museum in Asansol, West Bengal.

• Susanta Ray has a museum in Asansol and has created several statues of many famous personalities including Amitabh Bachchan, Virat Kohli, Uttam Kumar, Kazi Nazrul Islam, Pele and Mother Teresa. He has also immortalised politicians like Jyoti Basu and others. It is learnt that Susanta admired Sushant Singh Rajput and made the statue for display at his museum

• The statue of Rajput, which looks exactly like him, features the actor in a denim jacket standing with his arm leaning on a chair. The museum is open to all and any fan of the actor can visit it to click photos.

Photos of Sushant’s wax statue are doing rounds on social media. Netizens were delighted to see the artist’s tribute to the actor.

CONCLUSION

According to an ANI report, Sukanto Roy, the sculptor, said he admired Sushant and has made the statue in memory of the actor. He said, “I liked him (Rajput) a lot. It is unfortunate that he passed away. In his memory, I have made this statue for my museum.” He added, “However, if Sushant’s family requests for his statue, I will make a new one.”

A few weeks ago, fans of Sushant Singh Rajput started a urge to have his wax statue installed at the famous Madame Tussauds wax museum.

Not only wax statues, but the fans have also demanded justice for Rajput and a CBI probe into his death despite Maharashtra Police ruling it a suicide.
